Autism Friendly, Relaxed and Chilled Performances

We aim for all performances of Maggie & Me to be Autism Friendly and neurodivergent audience members are welcome at all of our performances. Visual guides will be available to download on our website and will be available from box office at the venue. A chill out space will be provided at all venues where space allows.

Relaxed Performances are created to make watching performance more accessible by ‘relaxing’ the usual rules of theatre etiquette – they allow for noise and movement from the audience, as well as tailoring light and sound for those with sensory sensitivities and offering more space within the auditorium with audiences being to come and go as suits them. Relaxed performances are for all audience members who would benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment, including (but not limited to) neurodivergent people, people with a learning disability and parents with very young children.

Relaxed performances are available at the following dates and times:

Lanternhouse, Cumbernauld: Thu 23 May, 7.30pm
Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh: Sat 15 June, 2.30pm

Chilled Performances will have a supported FOH experience, and takes a more casual approach to noise and movement in the auditorium, but the performance itself is unchanged. This performance is ideal for people who may find the usual FOH experience stressful, are keen to be aware of the content of the production in advance and are more at ease knowing they can go in and out of the auditorium during the show. This performance is for everybody and babes in arms are welcome (not walking or requiring their own seat).

Chilled Performances are available at the following dates and times:

Dundee Rep: Sat 1 June, 2.30pm
