Patrick Ryecart's last musical was in 2024, the acclaimed revival of Sondheim's A Funny Thing happened on the way to The Forum directed by Cal McCrystal at the Lido 2 Champs Elysees Paris where he played Senex. His first film was Richard Attenboroughs' A Bridge Too Far. Many other films include the title role in Ken Russells Martinu, Prisoner of Honour, Heart of Darkness directed by Nic Roeg, Casanova, Camille, Silver Dream Racer, Michael Winners' Parting Shots, and The Kings Speech. A wealth of tv work in the UK and U.S. includes Romeo in Romeo and Juliet for the BBC, Silas Marner, General Hospital, Pericles, The Rivals, Arms and the Man, Lovejoy, Goldeneye, The Talisman, Merlin and the Sword, My Son My Son, The High Life, Dr. Who, Lace 2, Jericho, Trainer, Coming Home, Nancherrow, A Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Poldark and the Duke of Norfolk in The Crown.
On stage he first starred opposite Deborah Kerr in Candida. Other leading London work includes An Ideal Husband, The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B with Billy Connolly ( and U.S) A Midsummer Nights Dream, See You Next Tuesday, Monogamy, The Importance, and at the National Theatre Jack Absolute in the Rivals.
Many tours include The Millionairess opposite Raquel Welch.
In London he hss produced Jus' Like That! a Tommy Cooper love fest with Jerome Flynn as Tommy at the Garrick, and Fatal Attraction at the Haymarket Theatre directed by Trevor Nunn.
He lives alone with frequent raids by ten grand children.
