About Chris Stuart Wilson
Chris Stuart Wilson is a multi-disciplinary creative force whose work spans direction, choreography, performance, and socially engaged artistic practice. His choreographic career has seen him collaborate with leading companies across the UK, including the National Theatre of Scotland, Perth Theatre, Citizens Theatre, and Dundee Rep. From 2010–2018, he served as Resident Choreographer at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, shaping more than 30 major productions. His credits there include the award-winning White Christmas, Singin’ in the Rain, and the record-breaking Chicago. Recent national tours include Hen Night Horror, Rollers Forever, and To Save the Sea.
A committed advocate for the transformative power of music and dance, he leads projects supporting vulnerable and marginalised communities. He was a facilitator on the National Theatre of Scotland co-production Coming Back Out Ball, celebrating the lives of LGBTQ+ elders, and this work continues through the Culture Club Collective. His dance work for people living with dementia has achieved international acclaim, featured in the BBC documentary Dancing to Happiness with Dame Darcey Bussell.
On the international stage, he is also celebrated for his acclaimed cabaret alter ego, Jesus L’Oreal, a genre-blending reinvention of the Messiah recast as a fitness and lifestyle influencer under the banner of “Jehovah’s Fitness”.
Alongside the tour of Stand and Deliver, Chris is directing Hannah Howie’s Funeral For My Boobs, originating at Oran Mor for Play, Pie and a Pint.
