Welcome to our page dedicated to Artists

 

In support of artists who are not currently under commission with the National Theatre of Scotland, we offer a range of free and paid professional development opportunities and programmes to artists based in Scotland.

We offer these in addition to our core work, paying artists to develop work for our programme. To find out more about how we work with artists, please check out Our Process.

We particularly want to hear from artists whose voices, stories and communities have been underrepresented and underserved by the theatre industry.

Free Resources and Opportunities


We offer free access to our non-cash resources such as work/rehearsal space, networking, staff expertise and experience etc, to a broad range of artists and companies, to support the health and sustainability of the sector.

Paid Artist Development Programmes

These programmes are designed to introduce National Theatre of Scotland to new emerging artists and support the development of their craft, often with a particular focus on artists whose voices, stories and communities have been unrepresented and underserved.
