Drop-in Activities

11.00 - 5.00pm – An exhibition of props and costumes from some of NTS’ best loved shows from our past 20 years. (no booking required, just drop in at any time during the day between 11am and 5pm)

11.00 - 5.00pm – We’re encouraging young people to get into character and the spirit of the day with free face painting on offer between 11am to 4.30pm (no booking required, but please note there may a short wait at busy times).

12.00 -2.00pm – Meet Nevada the Hawk. Nevada the Hawk and her handler visit NTS on a regular basis to deter seagulls from nesting on our roof. Rest assured though, no birds are harmed by Nevada during her visit, her presence alone is enough to deter the seagulls from moving in. Find out more and meet Nevada for yourself between 12-2pm, no booking required.

12.00 - 4.00pm – Be transported by the unique and fragrantly immersive experience that is Trolleydarity: a Scratch 'n' Sniff Staycation. No need to pack a bag, just stay where you are, close your eyes, scratch, sniff and go! Trolleydarity can be experienced throughout the day in Rockvilla between 12am and 4pm, no booking required.

Bookable Activity

11.30 - 4.00 pm – Tour Rockvilla: book a free guided tour of the National Theatre of Scotland's headquarters and centre for creativity, production and talent development. Tours include visits to our wardrobe department, technical stores and rehearsal spaces.

Named Rockvilla in recognition of the industrial and social heritage of the area surrounding Speirs Wharf in Glasgow, the building is a hub for supporting and developing talent and a place where people of all ages and abilities can learn and create. It is a place of imagination, learning and play.

Rockvilla aims to help us to build on the extraordinary creative energy unleashed over the National Theatre of Scotland’s first twenty years, to enable us to nurture the talent of future generations, and to enrich the lives of all the communities we serve.
