Theatre in Schools Scotland (TiSS), the National Theatre of Scotland and Imaginate’s successful schools touring project is back on the road for its tenth year, bringing inspiring live theatre and dance productions, made specially for children and young people into schools and nurseries.
TISS was developed to increase the provision of theatre and dance performances available for schools. The annual touring programme is informed by teachers and features Scottish performing companies and artists specialising in theatre and dance for young people. Productions are designed specifically with schools in mind and the programme is year-round and available to book anywhere in Scotland.
The following shows are available for booking in 2025 until June 2026.
Theatre in Schools Scotland can work with you to plan your visit, help you to choose a show, and answer any questions. If you are interested in making a booking for your school or would like more information about how you can work together please contact TISS@imaginate.org.uk

TiSS at 10 anniversary programme includes:
| Two in a Barrel (for P1-P3), created and performed by Ruxy Cantir and Sarah Rose Graber , a clown-inspired, physical theatre performance about the waste we create, the destructive consequences of our habits and co-existing in an environment with limited resources;
| My Friend Selma (for P5-S2) , written and performed by Victoria Beesley, the remarkable real-life story of one girl’s journey from war in Bosnia to safety in the UK, a tale of a world turned upside down, loss, friendship and courage;
| Lightning Ridge (for P5-S2), created by Gill Robertson, Shona Reppe, Daniel Padden and Rob Evans, is an award-winning show about the possibility of dreams, a community coming together, the preciousness of hope and how, sometimes, we have to believe in the impossible;
| Pop! by Vince Virr (for P1-P7), a high energy, visually vibrant dance duet inspired by the surprises of growing up, adolescence and finding your way in the world.
Schools and Parent Councils are encouraged to sign up on the TiSS website to receive information directly.
Since 2016 Theatre in Schools Scotland has offered schools subsidised performances. Offering the special TiSS at 10 anniversary programme free to schools would not be possible without a host of supporters.
