About Susan Bear
Susan Bear (she/her) is a multi-instrumentalist, sound designer, composer and artist working acrossthe mediums of music, theatre, games and film.
Recent projects include composition and musical arrangement for Civic Digit’s Big Data Show, as well as audio for accompanying mobile app; Sound design and composition for Hope & Joy (Stellar Quines, directed by Caitlin Skinner); Sound design for National Theatre of Scotland ‘Dear Europe’ by Leonie Rae Gasson, as well as various compositional work for companies including Jordan & Skinner, Surge, Allie Butler and Tidy Carnage.
Bear has toured internationally with bands such as Tuff Love, The Pastels, Malcolm Middleton, Pictish Trail, Tracyanne & Danny, as well as performing in the Fringe First winning production of What Girls Are Made Of (Cora Bissett / Orla O'Loughlin) as an actor and musician. In May 2020 Bear released her solo debut project Good Dog on Scottish indie label Lost Map to critical acclaim.
She has previously been involved in organising, teaching and mentoring at Girls Rock Glasgow, a DIY rock camp for young girls teaching confidence, music-making and creativity.
