Roxana Cole (neè Haines) (she/her) is a care-experienced stage director working in theatre and opera. She was the Staff Director at Scottish Opera from 2019 - 2023. Her work for the company includes an acclaimed outdoor production of La Boheme (5* The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Scotsman) and a site-specific, immersive Oedipus Rex with the Edinburgh International Festival (5* The Stage, 4* Guardian, The Telegraph). As a director and associate, she has worked throughout Europe and America. Roxana’s most rewarding projects have balanced therapeutic work, engagement and social change. She is currently undertaking an MSc in Dramatherapy at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh due to graduate in July. Roxana currently teaches at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and designs projects for the Fair Access Department. She is delighted to be working with The National Theatre of Scotland for this project as an artist facilitator and dramaturg.
