About Leah Byrne
Leah is a playwright, producer, dramaturg and composer. After coming through the MSc Playwriting led by Nicola McCartney at the University of Edinburgh, she was a Playwright's Studio Scotland mentored playwright and shortlisted for the inaugural St Andrews Award for Playwriting. Shifting into producing via BAFTA Rocliffe's New Writing Competition, she now works broadly with new work and adaptations across a range of scales and formats, fronting a dramaturgy-led approach to creative producing. After researching trauma-informed creative process, she's currently working with a range of international theatre-makers to examine how identity and marginalisation affect the commissioning, development and production of new writing from both personal and professional perspectives.
