Jay Newton trained at New College Lanarkshire (BA Hons Acting, 2013-2014). Television credits include Shetland Series 9 (ITV), Tipping Point (BBC Short Stuff), Payback Series 1 (HTM Television), Clique Series 2 (BBC), Half Moon Investigations (BBC) and River City (BBC).

His feature film work includes Marionette and Our Ladies. Short film credits include Sleazy Tiger alongside Alan Cumming, Ciuthach (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), The Comic and the Con (48 Hour Film Project), Social Circles (BBC Social) and Now I Am (Visible Fictions).
