About Davey Anderson
Davey is a playwright, composer and theatre-maker. His passion is for collaboration, creative learning and socially-engaged storytelling. Recently, he has written for the Citizens Theatre Young Co, created soundtracks for Barrowland Ballet, tabled at his first ever zine fair during Glasgow Zine Fest, and facilitated workshops and talks as Associate Playwright with the Playwrights’ Studio Scotland. He has also started a river themed community choir, installed an exhibition at The Briggait for the Watershed festival, and helped to run participatory arts sessions with a collective of artists and activists under the banner of Clyde Alive.
Davey was Director in Residence with the National Theatre of Scotland way back in its first year, arranging songs for Black Watch, touring his play Snuff, and acting as Associate Director on a number of productions. Since then, other projects with NTS include: Mixter Maxter, Be Near Me, Peter Pan, Enquirer, To Begin, Anything That Gives Off Light and Première neige / First Snow. He is delighted to reconnect with the company for the Tender Ground residency.
