About Dan Brown
Dan Brown (not the author) is an emerging film and performance artist based in Blackburn, West Lothian, working in central Scotland.
Dan’s work draws on the theatrical, utilising persona and popular iconography to contextualise meaning and mediate his own autobiography. Dan works within performance but also film in the form of video art and multimedia projection within performance. Dan works with popular culture references, dance and autobiography to create a mutual understanding between himself and his audience. His work is campy, queer and satirical, always on the borderline of parody.
Dan has also performed at the National Theatre of Targu-Mures (Romania) and Jupiter Artland during a one week Residency in collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Most recently Dan has worked on 21Common’s last film work ‘Anyone’ a film about longing, boredom, dreaming, love and TikTok.
Dan graduated in 2020 from BA Honours Contemporary Performance Practice at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Prior to this he graduated from HND Acting and Performance at Edinburgh College in 2015.
