Andrew Murphy is a 26 year-old drummer and percussionist who graduated from the Royal 
Conservatoire of Scotland in 2023. His training covered both orchestral percussion and drum kit, giving him the opportunity to immerse himself in a variety of musical environments.

Since graduating he has worked in many different areas within the industry from performing with the orchestra of Scottish Opera to recording with London Concertante on their upcoming “Radiohead Reimagined” album and playing in the pit band for shows with Imagine Theatre. He was invited to Sicily in 2023 to perform as principal timpanist for the Mediterranean Opera Studio Festival in Caltagirone.

Andrew is based in Glasgow where he also takes advantage of the city’s vibrant traditional music scene and now regularly performs with some of Scotland’s top folk musicians on bodhran and 
drum kit as part of Celtic Connections.
