Members of the cast for The Panopticon, the new stage version of Jennie Fagan’s breakthrough novel, have been confirmed.

The role of Anais will be played by Anna Russell Martin, who has previously appeared in last year’s production of Cyrano de Bergerac from the National Theatre of Scotland, Citizens Theatre, and Lyceum Theatre. She has also recently starred in the Citizens Theatre’s acclaimed production of Nora: A Doll’s House.

She will be joined on stage by fellow cast members Martin Donaghy, Kyle Gardiner, Lawrence Hodgson-Mullings, Kay McAllister, Louise McMenemy, Paul Tinto, and Gail Watson.

The Panopticon was the celebrated debut novel of Jenni Fagan, which cemented her place as one of Scotland’s most impressive young literary talents, leading to her place as the only Scottish writer on Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists list in 2013. Adapted for the stage by Fagan herself, the production of The Panopticon will be brought to vivid life by a creative team headed by leading young Scottish Director Debbie Hannan.

The production will receive its world premiere at Edinburgh’s Traverese Theatre, with preview performances taking place at Platform in Easterhouse. Full dates and booking info are available here.
