Join Producing Fellow Leah Byrne alongside artists and industry guests from to share the findings of Leah’s research around EDI and tokenism within the Scottish theatre sector, and explore what’s next for work. 

This event marks the culmination of Leah’s change-making project, a core part of her fellowship with the National Theatre of Scotland.

Over the course of her Fellowship, Leah has been researching the systems, pressures, and fears behind how various groups within the sector engage with equality, diversity and inclusion, what action that leads to, and where there are gaps in the discourse.

Through a series of focus groups, surveys and interviews, she has gathered findings that will be used in the creation of resources encouraging organisations and individuals alike to think dramaturgically about their relationship with EDI policy and encourage purposeful, structured reflection. This event is an opportunity to share and discuss these findings with artists and industry guests, as well as to come together in celebrating the work of all those involved and look towards a considered and responsible future for the sector.

The event will begin with be a short, informal presentation of Leah’s research findings, and will be followed by contributions from artists and representatives from organisations. There will be plenty of time to chat with guests, enjoy refreshments, ask questions, and offer up your own thoughts on the findings and hopes for the future.

Access: Support available includes: contributions towards caring costs, travel bursaries for those travelling more than 25 miles to Rockvilla, BSL interpreters, notetakers and access PA’s. Other support may be available on request.
