Join ESEA Creatives and Dramaturgy Fellow Hannah Low to celebrate East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) Heritage Month and share the findings of Hannah’s research.  

This event marks the culmination of Hannah’s change-making project, a core part of her fellowship with the National Theatre of Scotland. Hannah has been researching the experiences of ESEA artists and communities across Scotland through a series of focus groups, questionnaires and one-to-one conversations.

This evening is an opportunity to share what the research has found, hear directly from ESEA artists about their experiences of the sector, and come together informally to think about the future of ESEA-led theatre in Scotland.

The research and event are presented in partnership with ESEA Creatives, a grassroots, community-led organisation supporting the work of ESEA artists in Scotland. It is also a chance to connect with staff from the National Theatre of Scotland and colleagues from across the Scottish theatre sector.

There will be a short presentation of the research findings, followed by an artist panel, with plenty of time to chat, connect and ask questions. There will also be the option to make origami crafts and enjoy fun ESEA refreshments as part of the celebration.

Who is it For?

This event is open to ESEA artists, creatives and community members, as well as colleagues from across the Scottish theatre and wider cultural sector who are interested in ESEA creative practice and the future of ESEA-led theatre in Scotland.

The form includes the option to request a travel bursary and to let us know about any access support needs or dietary requirements.

Access support available includes contributions towards caring costs, travel bursaries for those travelling more than 25 miles to Rockvilla, BSL interpreters, notetakers and access PA’s. Other support may be available on request.
