Theatre in Schools Scotland (TISS) today issued a call out to artists and companies based in Scotland, looking for touring productions for the school years 2021 to 2023.

Theatre in Schools Scotland is produced by the National Theatre of Scotland and Imaginate to support and develop the touring of high-quality theatre and dance performances to Scotland’s schools and nurseries. In an annual programme, shows for children and young people created by Scottish performing arts companies and artists travel to primary schools and nurseries all over Scotland. Performances are enjoyed by thousands of pupils in school halls and classrooms from Shetland to Stranraer.

TISS is now looking for theatre or dance productions for two different programme strands suitable for performances in schools from Nursery to S1. Associated Productions are shows already fully funded to tour in Scotland and wish to additionally tour into schools as part of the TISS school programme with the support of TISS booking, liaison and promotion. Fully Funded Programme Remounts are re-mounted productions touring into schools nationally and are fully funded by TISS.

Applications for the TISS programme are due by 14 June 2021 and programme selection will be made by representatives from Imaginate and National Theatre of Scotland’s artistic and programming team, with invited independent artists.

TISS is committed to working with as varied a group of artists and companies as possible with a particular focus on underrepresented voices including disabled artists and artists of colour.
