Since 2006 the partnership between ScottishPower and National Theatre of Scotland has supported the creation of 18 large scale community projects across Scotland. These projects enabled ScottishPower to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates and to reach out to communities throughout Scotland where they have a presence. These projects included Transform and the Creative Communities projects 99…100, Truant and Reasons to Dance.

In 2012 ScottishPower supported Glasgow Girls at the Citizens Theatre and in 2013, the Glasgow performances of Black Watch at the SECC, Glasgow.

In May 2013, the ScottishPower Foundation, a registered Scottish charity, was established. The Foundation reinforces ScottishPower’s commitment to support charitable work throughout Britain. In 2014 the ScottishPower Foundation supported the tour of In Time o’ Strife and in Autumn 2015 supported Dragon at the Citizens Theatre and Dundee Rep. In 2017, the Foundation supported our major community project Submarine Time Machine, and in 2018 lends its support to Futureproof, the National Theatre of Scotland’s radical new festival of international performing arts, marking the Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018.
