About Wils Wilson
Wils Wilson is a theatre maker and director based in Scotland. Having started her directing career as half of renowned site-specific duo wilson+wilson, she continues to balance large-scale building based work with other projects in theatre, film and audio.
She is Associate Director at The Lyceum where her work includes: the award-winning productions of Life is a Dream and Wind Resistance with Karine Polwart (and Edinburgh International Festival); Red Ellen, Cockpit, Twelfth Night, The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other. Her other directing work includes productions for the National Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, National Theatre Wales, Welsh National Opera, Royal Court, and Manchester Royal Exchange. She is co-founder of experimental company ghostbag for whom she recently co-directed her first short film with Eszter Marsalko. Her work with musicians includes music videos for Meilyr Jones, audio drama podcasts The Portal and Keli with writer/composer Martin Green, and live theatre/music shows Praxis Makes Perfect and Candylion with Gruff Rhys. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including a Drama Desk Award for the 2017 New York run of The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart.
