Philip is a theatre director and dramaturg. Adaptations include: Fuenteovejuna and King John (Òran Mór, Glasgow); Titus Andronicus for director Stewart Laing (Dundee Rep). Freelance dramaturgy includes: Pineapple (Calipo Theatre & Picture Co, Ireland) and Hope and Joy (Tron, Glasgow).
Current adaptation commissions include: Richard (Shakespeare’s Henry VI Part Three and Richard III for Stellar Quines); Dialogues from Babel (Hearing the Voice, Durham University); Blaise (New Sparta Films).
For Nick Hern Books, he is the editor of Scotland Plays, Scottish Shorts and Theatre in Scotland — A Field of Dreams.
Philip is a former artistic director of the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh; and a director of new theatre company Pearlfisher.
