About Maureen Beattie
Maureen Beattie has worked with the National Theatre of Scotland on Yer Granny, 27, Enquirer and Dear Scotland.
She graduated with the James Bridie Gold Medal from what is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 1974 and she has been working as an actress and director ever since. Her work in television includes Outlander, Doctor Who, Lewis, Midsomer Murders, Taggart, Bramwell and Casualty, and her work in film includes Spores, The List, and The Decoy Bride.
In July last year she became the second ever female (and second ever Scottish) President of Equity, the entertainment workers’ union, and in the autumn of 2018 was named as one of The Saltire Society’s Outstanding Woman of Scotland.
