About Lou Brodie
Lou Brodie is a community artist and project manager based in Scotland. Through innovative artistic processes rooted in conviviality and community engagement Lou produces art works, events and festivals in collaboration with communities, people and places. Lou has worked with a range of national and international companies, artists and clients including; Tramway Glasgow, Platform Glasgow, Imaginate and the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival, Mammalian Diving Reflex, Nic Green, Southbank Centre, The WOW Foundation, Perth Theatre, The Touring Network, Dundee Rep and Scottish Dance Theatre and The First Ministers National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG).
Lou is passionate about and committed to creating events that invite questions about activism, intersectionality and collective responsibility. From teaching teens and adults how to throw bricks, to programming and producing Scotland's first WOW - Women of the World Festival and designing the youth consultation for the NACWG resulting in the publication of a co-authored young person led zine her work is known for person-centred production values and an attention to detail.
She recently completed a MSc in Applied Gender Studies from the University of Strathclyde and she is currently part of the team delivering The National Theatre of Scotland and All the Queens Men's Scottish premiere of The Coming Back Out Ball.
