About Linda McLean
Linda McLean is a Scottish playwright who has been writing plays for around twenty years.
For National Theatre of Scotland she co-wrote First Snow.
Other plays include the award winning Every Five Minutes; Any Given Day; Sex & God; strangers, babies; Shimmer; Riddance; and One Good Beating.
In 2017 she wrote Glory on Earth for David Greig’s opening season at the Lyceum, Edinburgh.
Her play Castle Lennox, for Lung Ha and the Lyceum was due to open in May 2020.
In 2009 she delivered the keynote speech to the Playwrights' Guild of Canada.
Linda was the Creative Fellow at Edinburgh University's Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities in 2011.
An anthology of her work, in French, was published in 2015 by Actes Sud-Papiers.
She was Chairwoman of the Playwrights' Studio, Scotland from 2008-15 and an artistic associate of Magic Theatre, San Francisco.
Linda ran a series of workshops for the British Council in Saõ Paula in September 2017. She has previously worked for the BC in Mexico City, Teluca and Bogota.
