About Katie Armstrong
Originally from Aberdeen, Katie trained at Rambert school. During her third year she performed with Rambert Dance Company.
Following graduation, she worked with and performed for artists and companies including National Theatre Scotland, Rosie Kay Dance Company, Company Chordelia/Scottish Opera, for Jack Webb Dance, Tamsyn Russell, Simon Fildes/Wyn Pottratz, Tai Shani and Eowyn Emerald and Dancers.
Katie has also choreographed work in collaboration with ZENDEH Theatre Company, for Instinctive Matter for Wilton’s Music Hall/Secret Garden Party, for The Yard Theatre, and for The Oran Mors’ Play Pie and a Pint.
Most recently Katie has created HAND//SHAKE which through support from Creative Scotland, Dance House Glasgow and Surge has toured Scotland to various festivals, events and theatres including Hidden Door Festival, Scottish International Storytelling Festival, Manipulate Visual Theatre Festival, Duff House for Aberdeen Artists Society, Dance Base Spring Showcase, Summerhalls’ Open Minds Open Doors, Solas Festival and Merchant City Festival. HAND//SHAKE forms part one of SKETCHES.
