About Jonathan Watson
Born in Glasgow, Jonathan trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. On leaving College he joined the Glasgow Citizens' T.A.G. Theatre Company and went on to work with the Traverse, Borderline, 7:84, Royal Lyceum, Perth Rep., and the Scottish Theatre Co., while returning to the Citizens' on many occasions.
Previous work with the National Theatre of Scotland includes Yer Granny. Other recent theatre work includes Rob Drummond's Quiz Show at The Traverse. John Byrne's adaptation of Chekhov's The Three Sisters for The Tron, Traverse/Birmingham Rep’s production of Douglas Maxwell’s The Whip Hand, and Fibres by Frances Poet for Stellar Quines/Citizens’ Theatre.
Film work includes - Local Hero, Girl In The Picture, The Match, Solid Geometry, Filth, and the award winning Let Us Prey - which premiered at The Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Television work includes Naked Video, City Lights, Rab C. Nesbitt, The Bill, Casualty, New Town, Garrow's Law, New Tricks, Rubenesque, Mountain Men, Waterloo Road, Scotland In A Day, Fried, Upstart Crow, Bob Servant, Back, Only An Excuse?, Two Doors Down, and This Time...With Alan Partridge.
