About Jo Hellier
Jo Hellier is an artist working with choreography, installation and voice.
She makes multi-art-form pieces that take place outside as well as in theatres and galleries. Her work explores the relationship between human and non-human stemming from a fascination and love of the natural world and a desire to explore our relationship to it.
Her practice is a mix of deep listening, increasing awareness in the body and training the imagination. Jo’s work is conceptually driven and political through its process, always collaborative and ecologically minded.
Jo studied Theatre and Choreography at Dartington College of Arts. Her work has been commissioned by Artsadmin, Mayfest, In Between Time, SPILL & Bristol Biennial. She collaborates with artists across dance, theatre and music; including Verity Standen, Louise Ahl, Simone Kenyon, Peter McMaster, Yas Clarke, Sheila Ghelani.
