Gareth is the Artistic Director of the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh.
His work has toured extensively across the UK as well as transferring to Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the USA. His productions have won numerous awards including Scotsman Fringe Firsts, CATS Awards (Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland), The Stage Awards, Scottish Arts Club Awards and a Carol Tambour Best of Edinburgh Award.

For the Traverse his shows include Wilf By James Ley, Still by Frances Poet, Crocodile Feverby Meghan Tyler (in association with Lyric Belfast), Ulster American by David Ireland, (International tour), Arctic Oil by Clare Duffy and How To Disappear by Morna Pearson.
Other productions include: Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh (Citizens / Kings Theatre), Blackbird by David Harrower,Into That Darkness by Gitta Sereny,Vanya by Sam Holcroft (Citizens Theatre); God Of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas (Tron Theatre), A Gamblers Guide To Dying & Donald Robertson is Not A Stand Up Comedian by Gary McNair (Uk Tours, Show & Tell) and Educating Ronnie by Joe Douglas (Uk tour, Utter).
Previously he was Main-Stage Director In Residence at the Citizens Theatre and Artist In Residence at Imaginate International Childrens Festival.
