About Bogha Frois
Bogha-frois: Queer Voices in Folk is a community of queer folk musicians based in Scotland and beyond. Bogha-frois (Scottish Gaelic for "Rainbow") seeks to provide a platform for queer musicians in the traditional and folk arts, and to create opportunity for performance, collaboration and creativity, which reflects the queer experience. Founded in 2018, the project has showcased over 50 musicians at Celtic Connections in 2019 and 2020, and was nominated for Community Project of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards 2019.
The Bogha-frois Ceilidh Band consists of Laura Wilkie (fiddle), Grant Mcfarlane (accordion), Christian Gamauf (whistle, pipes) and Anna Massie (guitar).
