About Ana Inés Jabares Pita
Ana Inés Jabares-Pita is an international, award-winning Designer working across opera, dance, theatre, fine arts, exhibitions and film. Her designs are informed by an extensive musical training and fascination with augmented reality, video, new technologies, magic and painting techniques within theatre and fine arts. She was winner of the prestigious Linbury Prize in 2013 and a Jerwood Young Designer at the Gate Theatre in 2014 where her design for Idomeneus was selected to be part of the V&A archive. In 2015 she won Hechos DeTalento becoming an ambassador for Spanish design in iconic sites such as Piccadilly Circus London and Times Square NYC. In 2021 she designed the Christmas installation for Cidadeda Cultura in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Her design for The Lovely Bones has been selected to represent the UK at the World Stage Design 2022.
Her many Theatre credits include Pride and Prejudice (*sort of) (West End/Criterion Theatre/Royal Lyceum Theatre/UK Tour), The Lovely Bones (Birmingham Repertory Theatre/UK Tour), Faustus, That Damned Woman (Headlong Theatre), What Girls Are Made Of (Traverse Theatre/Tour), Twelfth Night, Cockpit, Charlie Sonata (Royal Lyceum Theatre), George And The Marvelous Medicine (Dundee Repertory Theatre); Daphne Oram And The Wonderful World Of Sound (Tron Theatre/Blood of the Young); The Driver’s Seat (National Theatre Scotland); Wish List (Royal Exchange Theatre /Royal Court Theatre), LeLa & Co (Royal Court Theatre), The Echo Chamber (Young Vic Theatre), and Idomeneus, (Gate Theatre).
Her credits for Opera and Dance include Co-Directing the premiere of A&E for the Tête á Tête Opera Festival 2020. Recent design credits include Breaking The Waves (Theater St Gallen, Switzerland), Elixir of Love (Waterperry Festival Opera), To See The Invisible (World premiere, Aldeburgh Festival), The Art of Violence and Animalis choreographed by Dane Hurst (site specific for Dulwich Picture Gallery), Achilles, Unbecoming, The End Of Things (Company of Wolves), Remnants (Print Room/Opera Erratica) and Magic Fish (The Place/UK Tour).
