National Theatre of Scotland will be opening its doors to secondary school pupils and their teachers this autumn by offering two new opportunities to encourage young people to explore the possibility of a career within the creative industries.
From marketing to producing, finance to costume, our bespoke Theatre Insights sessions are an opportunity for pupils to delve into the less well-known areas of theatre, experience a taste of the work involved in those roles and see it as a viable career option.
Hosted by our Production team and Audience and Media team, this morning session will give pupils a hands on, practical insight into the workings behind both departments.
From how to work a lighting board to creating a cue sheet, our technical production team will guide you through a taster of the role they play in making theatre happen. Meanwhile, our Audience and Media team will share the secrets of creating eye-catching content for our website and how to build an amazing media campaign for our shows.
Pupils will work with each department for an hour, with a short break in between, before having the opportunity to ask any burning questions.
Look out for our future Theatre Insights dates which will be hosted by different departments.
Dates: Mon 16th September and Tue 17th September
Location: Rockvilla, 125 Craighall Road, Glasgow
Capacity: Max 14 pupils per school

We are also able to offer a limited number of condensed versions of our Theatre Insights sessions in your school, opening the opportunity to those outwith the central belt. To discuss this option, please contact Gillian Gourlay, Learning and Outreach Manager on email@example.com
The content of these sessions will be dependent on the dates and availability of each department; however we shall do our best to meet your needs.
