Glasgow Doors Open Day

An introduction to National Theatre of Scotland

We are opening up our new building to the public. We look forward to welcoming you to Rockvilla, an engine room for Scottish theatre, designed by Hoskins Architects, on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal.

We are opening up the front of the building to all visitors, with photography/ video presentations and exhibits from popular National Theatre of Scotland shows.

You can explore behind the scenes, with interactive tours of the wardrobe areas, technical workshops, rehearsal rooms and prop store. You can dress up in one of the costumes from the National Theatre of Scotland’s wardrobe store.

You can take part in a 306 Song Workshop with with award-winning composer Gareth Williams or join both Gareth and Oliver Emanuel co-curators of the The 306 Trilogy at The 306: In Conversation talk.

As part of Futureproof, our forthcoming Scotland-wide performance festival for young people, a leading theatre practitioner will lead a special one-off Theatre Workshop for 14 – 26 year olds.

PLEASE NOTE: Activities can be booked in advance, all behind the scenes tours are currently sold out, but places will still be available on the day.

All activities take place in one of our new rehearsal rooms.
Refreshments available and a canal-side view. There will be a craft activity for young kids.
