Glasgow Canal Festival

National Theatre of Scotland is opening up our building to the public and we look forward to welcoming all ages to Rockvilla: an engine room for Scottish theatre.

Designed by Hoskins Architects, this purpose-built creative facility sits proudly on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal, part of an emerging cultural quarter in Glasgow.

We are opening up the front of the building to visitors, with crafting activities for children and families, photography and video presentations of our previous and upcoming work, and exhibits of costumes, props and model boxes from some of our most popular shows.

All activities are drop in, no advance booking required.

11:00am – 5:00pm

Getting to Rockvilla

Rockvilla is located at 125 Craighall Road by the Forth and Clyde Canal, and is accessible by car, foot or bike. There are no direct buses but there are several services that will drop you nearby, followed by a short walk.

By foot:
From Cowcaddens Subway Station, walk towards Garscube road, under the motorway underpass and up the stairs to the canal. Keep to the left bank of the canal and carry on until you come to the first pedestrian bridge, cross this and turn left.

From St George’s Cross subway station cross onto St George’s road and walk up, past Woodside Library and the high-rise flats until you reach the Garscube and Possil Road junction – cross the junction and walk up the yellow path on your left. Cross the Applecross Basin bridge, turn right and follow the cobbled path past the Whisky Bond.

We hope to see you there!
