Engine Room Session with the Orkney Folk Festival
24/05/2019 - 24/05/2019
An opportunity for Orkney based artists to get together. Come and meet with each other; share an idea or a piece of performance (poems, stories, songs all welcome!) – open mic style – and have a conversation about what it means to be an artist in Orkney now.
There will be sharings from National Theatre of Scotland’s One Day to Play initiative as well as scratch performances from local artists – all presented in partnership with the Orkney Folk Festival.
We’re also expecting a visit from some of the cast of The Cheviot, The Stag and the Black, Black Oil company ahead of their sold-out performance at the Folk Festival.
This event is part of Engine Room: Diverging.
Our Engine Room programme has our Theatre Without Walls ethos at its heart. We bring artists together to develop skills, networks and create new work at the greatest reach of their imaginations and ambitions.
From April to June Engine Room will focus on multiplicity, cross-pollination and divergence through the lenses of identity, thought and art-form, as part of Engine Room: Diverging.
