Mele Broomes

Mele is an award-winning choreographer and performer (Total Theatre Awards, Best Dance at Edinburgh Fringe 2018 for work VOID).

Founder of V/DA a multi multiple disciplinary collective where her roles cross between, directing, performing, choreographing and creative producing. Co-director of Project X Dance – an organisation which champions the dances of the African Caribbean Diaspora in Scotland. Mele’s work embodies stories from the collective voice, creating visceral and sensory collaborations through her ancestral inheritance. Activating social questions. Remembering and celebrating. Her most recent works include Sonic Séance which premiered at Take Me Somewhere Festival and Grin which was most recently presented at Dance International Glasgow.
