During her solitude, a young woman offers a tender poetic lament to an absent loved one, and takes comfort in imagining a time when they can finally be together again.
"Although it’s not usually a priority of mine, for scenes for survival I wanted to create something with warmth and hope. The piece is a peak into a personal life in lockdown, and the small ways in which we give meaning and reason to every day."
Stef Smith, Writer
I’m delighted to be a part of the NTS Scenes for Survival. Working on this project remotely from home has been a fulfilling creative experience like no other. It makes me feel nostalgic. Growing up I would record and make home videos on the camcorder, creating characters and building worlds; storytelling at its simplest form. This experience shows during these uncertain times, no matter how far apart we are, theatre brings everyone together. Our craft still has a platform to help entertain and deliver messages of hope and solidarity to everyone at home.
