In-between hosting international guests, an isolated B&B landlord finds his routine disrupted by a mysterious ghostly presence. As the haunting grows more violent and he struggles to maintain his sanity, he begins to question whether what he’s seeing is real after all. Gerry Mulgrew stars in a chilling supernatural tale from writer Lynda Radley, directed by Andy Arnold.
Produced by the National Theatre of Scotland, in association with BBC Scotland, Screen Scotland, BBC Arts’ Culture in Quarantine project and The Tron Theatre with support from Hopscotch Films.
"I found I didn't want to write about the situation we are in. What I have personally sought out during lockdown are stories that transport me somewhere else: a good yarn, a glimpse into another person's mind, the weird and the wonderful. So that's what I have tried to do in this piece. The character - an isolated holiday host who can't cope with an uninvited guest - has been in my head for a while. I hope that the short time you spend with him is entertaining, and unsettling. It's always a pleasure to connect with an audience, and these short pieces are welcome stepping stones that can help both the artist and the audience cross through this strange time."

"I’m delighted to be taking part in Scenes for Survival, and to be in such great company. As always it is a pleasure to be able to tell a story and connect with an audience. For a freelance artist this kind of support provides the stepping stones to navigate through this uncertain time."
Lynda Radley, Writer
"Without Scotland’s freelance artists and theatre makers the rest of Scottish theatre and it’s buildings couldn’t exist. It is vital we find ways of giving hope and whatever cash we can to these amazing people."
Andy Arnold, Director
