Just Start Here – Friday

FRIDAY 8 MARCH, 4.00pm – 7.30pm

In Conversation: Music at the Intersection

Scotland packs a punch when it comes to producing world-class musicians, and in this discussion event we’re delighted to have some of Scotland’s foremost musicians and theatre makers give insight into working across art-forms with music as a focus. Featuring Kathryn Joseph (singer-songwriter and musician, 2015 Scottish Album of the Year Award Winner) with more to be announced shortly.

5 Minutes to Move Me – //BUZZCUT//

Move Me To Action! Move Me To Tears! Move Me Closer! Let’s Move Together!

Share 5 minutes together with an artist across a table as they attempt to move you in this series of one on one encounters.

CHOW AND CHAT: What’s next for performance in Aberdeen – //BUZZCUT//

A conversation with your dinner. Chow down with BUZZCUT as we host a communal dinner conversation, asking “What’s next for performance in Aberdeen?”

This will be an open forum for anyone interested or invested in Live Art (or performance) to meet, eat and generate action about how we can best support and sustain a context for artists and audiences – making connections across the city & across Scotland.

Food will be vegan and gluten-free and complimentary to ticket holders for the 4pm – 7.30pm session

Get tickets for afternoon and evening sessions together for just £8. Add both tickets to your basket and the discount will be applied automatically.

Friday 8 March, 7.30pm – 11.00pm

One Day To Play Sharings

Six artists come together to experiment across art-forms and to generate a brand new idea, and they’d like to share it with you.

Curated by Speakin’ Weird and Citymoves and directed by Jenny Lindsay.

The Shelter

The Shelter celebrates the simple beauty and intimacy of drawings. Live Japanese ink drawing and a multi-voiced verbatim performance of different dialects and languages are combined to reflect contemporary life around city-centre bus shelters in Aberdeen.

Originally developed as a live stage performance by artist Kate Steenhauer and writer Shane Strachan with support from National Theatre of Scotland and Aberdeen Performing Arts, this further development will incorporate sound artist Ross Whyte into the production, exploring new links between the three disciplines.

SKETCHES – Work in Progress

SKETCHES are a series of movement works created with the intention of making geographically and intellectually accessible dance. Each sketch is set to and inspired by one movement of Bach’s Violin Concerto in A Minor and follows an encounter between two/three performers.

Choreographed by Katie Armstrong and performed by Millie Thomas, Olivia Roach and Katie Armstrong.

Get tickets for afternoon and evening sessions together for just £8. Add both tickets to your basket and the discount will be applied automatically.
