The National Theatre of Scotland’s LEARN department offers everything from large-scale community productions to intensive courses for the next generation of theatre-makers; from post-show discussions to professional masterclasses; from Continuing Professional Development sessions for teachers to workshops for pupils. For audiences and creators alike, the goal is to bring people together and champion great art.
The National Theatre of Scotland takes root in communities across Scotland, working with artists, individuals and groups of all ages, to create innovative theatre experiences, mixing together music, visual art, dance and literature. Recent productions in collaboration with communities include Jump and The Tin Forest.
An extensive range of creative learning opportunities exist to support the National Theatre of Scotland’s productions. School pupils, students, teachers and curious audiences everywhere can find out more in our learning resources section.
Teachers can also access Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions delivered by the company. Other creative learning opportunities exist to support productions, including masterclasses with leading international artists, multi-disciplinary workshops for all ages, readings and talks.
