Clarissa Cheong

Clarissa has been a musician with Edinburgh-based band eagleowl since 2006, playing double bass, bass guitar and singing. eagleowl have released 2 E.P.’s, 3 singles and an album together on various labels with the most recent being Lost Map Records. The band toured as part of the band Woodpigeon, playing End of the Road festival and recorded a session with Marc Riley on 6Music. They have also toured with Isle of Eigg-based The Pictish Trail and have played various festivals such as Green Man, Doune the Rabbit Hole and Away Game.

Described by The Scotsman as “the soundtrack to the saddest, most beautiful art-house film you’ve never seen.”, the band were commissioned by the Edinburgh International Film Festival to soundtrack a series of films from the Scottish Screen National Archive and have since experimented with Dune: The Musical and a prog-rock horror Halloween project, Our Ladies of Sorrow.

Clarissa’s more recent contributions include;  providing guest vocals and strings on Jamie Sutherland of Broken Records’ solo album to be released later in 2018 and working with Mark Andrew Hamilton from Woodpigeon on  a split 12” to be released sometime in Autumn 2018 on Song, By Toad Records.
