Alison Lefroy Brooks

After graduating in modern languages at the University of Birmingham Alison joined KPMG in London where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. From there she undertook a number of finance roles before deciding to specialise in treasury.

After a spell at a UK building materials company, she joined the industrial gases group BOC to run their North Pacific treasury operations and then moved to the Netherlands where she worked for TPG, owner of the Dutch Post Office and TNT. She moved to Scotland in 2001 to join Aggreko plc, the global temporary power business, and was part of the growth of that company into one of Scotland’s FTSE 100 plcs, responsible for raising finance and managing financial risks across the world, in countries from Uganda to the USA, Argentina to Australia.

She was also chair of their UK pension scheme. During that time she was Chair for the Scottish region of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. She retired from Aggreko in January 2013. She is currently Vice Chair of Glasgow School of Art and is also Chair of its Audit committee.
