Sir Adrian Shinwell

Sir Adrian is the Senior Partner of Kerr Barrie, Solicitors, Glasgow.

Educated at Hutchesons’ Grammar School and Glasgow University, Sir Adrian specialises in commercial law advising in relation to strategic, contractual and property issues. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators from 1990 until 2008.

He is a former Non-Executive Director of St Leonards School, St Andrews, and DA Group plc, a former part-time Tutor in the Faculty of Law at Glasgow University and former Acting Chairman (Vice Chairman) of the Justice of the Peace Advisory Committee in East Renfrewshire.

Sir Adrian was knighted for political services in the 1996 New Year’s Honours List and served as a Deputy Lieutenant for Renfrewshire from 1999 until 2011.

Married with three children, Sir Adrian lives in Busby, outside Glasgow. Aside from the family, his principal interests are reading, listening to music, pottering in the Highlands and ceilidh dancing.
