Richard Findlay, Chairman
Richard Findlay is the founding Chairman of the National Theatre of Scotland and a respected businessman who successfully built up a media company that outperformed its peers in terms of total shareholder returns over ten years becoming a member of the FT 250 category of listed companies. Following his retirement from the company, but while still retaining his board position, the company was sold in 2005. Now a private investor, he has interests in a number of companies across various sectors.
Richard Findlay trained as an actor and graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama retaining a life long interest in the theatre throughout his business career. He has served as a Chairman of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company, a Governor of the RSAMD, Director of a leading law firm, Chairman of Lothian Health Board, a Trustee of the Royal Observatory Trust, the Scottish Community Education Council and is a former Honorary President (Rector) of Heriot Watt University where he served on the University Court and various committees.
Richard lives in Edinburgh and is currently Chairman of STV Group plc, Innovate Financial Services, Youth Group Ltd and a Director of a number of companies where he holds an investment.
