Placement Programme
In 2013, the Artistic Development Department will offer three placements to individuals based in Scotland, looking to build a career in the arts.
The placements will be in the areas of Producing and Project Management and Literary.
Producing and Project Management

Working with the Project Manager to deliver the Company’s development activity including: budgeting, contracting, venue hire, liaising with artists/companies.

Shadowing meetings between the Director of Artistic Development/Project Manager and associated artists/companies.

Connecting with other theatre makers and producers internally and externally.

Updating the Company’s plays library;

Attending development sharings/plays readings where appropriate.

Specific personal development opportunities as identified.
Literary
-
Shadowing the Literary Manager in script development meetings and general literary activity.

Supporting the Literary Manager in the script reading programme.

Personal bespoke development opportunities as identified.

Reading and discussing drafts of commissioned plays.

Connecting with other theatre makers and producers internally and externally.

Updating the Company’s plays library.
Placements run for a maximum of two full weeks, or two days a week for one month, and will be located in the National Theatre of Scotland’s Glasgow office.
The Company will reimburse individuals up to £200 towards travel expenses over the course of the placement (where applicable) on presentation of agreed receipts.

Placement 1: Producing and Project Management (April – June) Deadline passed.
Placement 2: Producing and Project Management (July – September) Deadline for applications 31st May 2013 at 10am.
Placement 3: Literary (October – December) Deadline for applications 1st August 2013 at 10am.
Applications will be held on file for a maximum of 12 months. Successful candidates will be selected and notified at the start of the month preceding the potential placement period.
