About NTS Young Company

NTS Young Company was an initiative comprising a director, two producers and four actors, all of whom are recent graduates or theatre professionals at the start of their careers. You can familiarise yourself with the Young Company members by clicking the links on the right.

Brought together for a year to benefit from the mentoring of the National Theatre of Scotland, the Young Company's brief was to produce an exciting and varied programme of work, presented in various venues across Scotland and Ireland.

Based in The Bridge, a new multipurpose arts venue in Easterhouse, the NTS Young Company also worked with the Platform Youth Drama Group, presenting installation performances for the Easterhouse Festival in July 06 to celebrate the opening of The Bridge to the public, and helping them to create Dionysia, a celebration of Greek theatre, in December. In addition, the Young Company were involved in delivering drama workshops to various community groups throughout the year.

Young Company's final production was The Recovery Position, a site-specific promenading production created especially for The Bridge. The show was directed by Mark Murphy, founder and director of Vtol Dance Company. With Mark's extensive experience across art forms, Young Company created an ambitious, thrilling and unforgettable piece of theatre.
